The Kinsella Flock from George Knox, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland Flock Code JIG
After using British Rouge rams on commercial ewes from 1992 the Kinsella flock was founded in 2002 after the opportunity arose to purchase the entire Camus flock from Joe Campbell. A few select females were also purchased from the Glengalliagh and Bennachie flocks. Our aim is to produce sheep with good skins, confirmation and who are true to breed type.
The most influential rams that have been used in the flock are Tullyvallen Unrestricted and Glengalliagh Godfather and we are looking forward to seeing how our new Belgium sired ram Bennachie President AGA P00206 will breed for use in 2015.
The highlights for the Kinsella flock have been Kinsella Davy JIG D9 winning the lowland interbreed champion at the Great Yorkshire show in 2006 for the East of Eden flock of John Smithson, and Kinsella Dora JIG D17 who won the interbreed champion at Ballymena show in 2007.
